Jonas Van Put (1989) liet zich reeds tijdens zijn opleiding meubelontwerp aan Thomas More Mechelen (vomo) opmerken met diverse projecten die het midden houden tussen meubel en installatie. 

Natuur- en landschapsfenomenen inspireren hem, alsook de processen er achter. De schaal der dingen en hun relatie tot de mens vormen een rode draad doorheen zijn nog jonge  oeuvre.

Zijn installaties en objecten zijn zelden vrijblijvend voor de toeschouwer, gebruiker en/of passant. 

Voor smartlab ACT VI maakte hij DONOR, een langzaam pulserende long die enerzijds als object de ruimte vulde maar gelijktijdig ook een nieuwe binnenruimte creëerde. 

ACT VI werd op 30 juni 2017 middels live streaming gelanceerd tijdens BLACK, de grote LABO dubbeltentoonstelling in C-mine Genk.  De voorstudie voor DONOR maakte er deel uit van DE FORMIDABELEN, een installatie ter ere van Jan Kenis binnen de thema-tentoonstelling BLACK TO THE FUTURE.

DONOR is vroegtijdig geëxplodeerd en werd vervangen door een schaalmodel.

Jonas Van Put (1989) is an interior architect and furniture designer (vomo). He creates monumental steel constructions, furniture and art installations that question and improve social interaction.

He is intrigued by nature, landscapes and everything that derives from this. The underlying processes of nature as well as artificial circumstances on different scales fascinate him.

The journey across those scales is vital for the choice of a design language. For in each and every design he pays attention to the relation with its public, and questions social interactions among people. The starting point is one, imaginary story that leads the following design process to be dreamy and light-hearted as well.

For smartlab ACT VI he designed DONOR, a slow and softly pulsing lung that kept the middle between an object and a space on its own.  DONOR exploded rather soon and was replaced by a scale model interacting with the passersby.

ACT VI was launched and streamed live during the opening event of LABO's BLACK @ C-mine in Genk.  The model for DONOR was part of DE FORMIDABELEN exhibition within BLACK TO THE FUTURE.
